A large bird with pinkish plumage stands amidst green foliage and flowers The roseate spoonbill is a large wading bird known for its pink plumage and distinctive spoon-shaped bill. It feeds on crustaceans, aquatic insects, frogs, newts and very small fish . I took this photograph near Big Cypress Reserve in the Florida Everglades
